ERM is again sponsoring and speaking at the PWEA Conference, taking place on 20-22 June 2023 in Serock, Poland.

The event is the largest wind energy industry event in Poland, Central and Eastern Europe and dedicated to very serious challenges Poland is currently facing as a result of climate change, the war in Ukraine, the economic crisis and the inevitable energy transition. This year’s conference will reflect key challenges - the evolvement of Poland’s energy sector in the coming years, the role of wind energy in the process of energy transformation and the achievement of climate change targets.

Charles is a Partner at ERM Germany with 15 years’ experience supporting business development and go-to-market strategy initiatives in energy sector projects across Europe. Charles has a specific background in energy infrastructure (gas transportation & storage, regulatory affairs) and green hydrogen projects. Since joining ERM, Charles has been leading major renewable energy development and strategic projects in Germany and Central Europe. He has been particularly involved in offshore wind development projects, providing consenting and stakeholder engagement advisory to new market entrants.

Agnieszka Karaś

Agnieszka Karaś

Principal Technical Consultant and Technical Offshore Wind Expert, ERM Poland

Agnieszka has more than 18 years of experience in environmental consulting, conducting and managing Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIAs), and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) assessments in accordance with the requirements of both local countries and the International Finance Corporation (IFC’s) and the World Bank’s. Agnieszka has a track record of working with public and private sector clients to identify environmental and social risks and complex issues and develop mitigation measures to ensure compliance with good industry practices. She has worked across a range of sectors with a current focus on offshore and onshore wind, hydropower, upstream oil and gas and manufacturing, particularly in Poland, Southern Africa (Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Uganda and South Africa), Ukraine and Turkey.

Managing Consultant, ERM Poland

Sylwia is an Environmental and Social Consultant with experience in marine data analysis and social engagement and has graduated of the University of Southampton (BSc degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography) and King's College London (MSc first class degree in Water: Science and Governance). She specializes in environmental and social topics such as the Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) assessments, Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), and stakeholder engagement during the development of renewable energy sources. She has experience in the drinking water sector and ocean education outreach, as well as she coordinated projects to introduce formal climate education in Poland.
