ERM Webinar Series: Clearing the Air

Carrie Jenks has over fifteen years of experience working in environmental law and corporate strategy and provides strategic advice on energy, climate change, and air quality issues to MJB&A clients. She also works with the members of the Clean Energy Group (CEG), a group of electric generating companies committed to working with policymakers and other stakeholders to promote effective environmental policy options in the areas of air quality and energy.

Carrie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from Harvard College and a Juris Doctor degree from the Georgetown University Law Center.  Carrie lives west of Boston with her husband, son, and daughter.

Kevin Poloncarz represents a broad range of Covington’s clients on policy, regulatory, litigation, commercial, and enforcement matters involving air quality, climate change, and clean energy. Mr. Poloncarz is ranked by Chambers USA as among the nation’s leading climate change attorneys and California’s leading environmental lawyers, with sources describing him as “a phenomenal” and “tremendous lawyer.”

He was named an “Energy & Environmental Trailblazer” by the National Law Journal in 2017 and was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers in 2018.

Venu Ghanta is the Vice President of Federal Regulatory Affairs and Environmental Policy at Duke Energy. Venu leads environmental policy advocacy for the company to help accelerate Duke Energy’s clean energy transformation. Prior to coming to Duke, Venu served in several positions at the Environmental Protection Agency, including as Special Assistant to Administrator Lisa Jackson, where he developed and implemented a broad range of Clean Air Act-related regulations.

Venu holds a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan, a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.

Jason R. Krawczyk is a Senior Consultant in the Air Quality practice out of ERM’s Indianapolis, Indiana office. He has over fourteen years of experience working on a wide range of Clean Air Act issues, including ten years of experience as a regulator for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management’s Air Permits Branch. In his capacity at ERM, Mr. Krawczyk manages air quality aspects of capital projects for clients across a broad range of industry sectors including pharmaceutical, chemical, food, beverage and agri-business, manufacturing, metals, and power.
