Ally is a marine consultant in ERM's Capital Projects team in Glasgow, with over eight years of professional experience. She initially started as a terrestrial ecologist, working on a range of projects across Scotland, including onshore wind farms and transport. Ally transitioned into digital aerial survey as a lead analyst. She has experience working in UK Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) waters, including the Celtic Sea, Irish Sea, and North Sea, as well as in international regions such as the Danish North Sea, the Baltic Sea, the East Coast of the USA, the Yellow Sea off the coast of South Korea, and the Gippsland coast in Australia.
Since joining ERM, Ally has focused on marine mammals and ornithology, conducting impact assessments for a variety of marine projects, including offshore renewables, restoration projects, carbon capture, and subsea cables. She has led and supported baseline studies, impact assessments, and technical deliverables related to marine mammals and ornithology. Additionally, she has coordinated with statutory nature conservation bodies such as Natural England, the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC), and NatureScot. Her work includes writing and reviewing technical reports, method statements, and mitigation and monitoring plans, as well as supporting marine licensing processes and advising on UK marine policy. Furthermore, she has contributed to advancing tidal energy science concerning marine mammals and ornithology.
