ERM, the world’s largest specialist sustainability consultancy, has been named as an Environmental Services Leader in new research from independent analyst firm Verdantix.

The Verdantix Green Quadrant: Environmental Services 2024 report provides a benchmark of the most prominent environmental services providers in the market. ERM is positioned in the Leaders’ Quadrant and is highlighted as one of three firms demonstrating the most comprehensive environmental services capabilities.

The report points to ERM’s strengths in deploying innovative environmental solutions to deliver

sustainability transformation and notes its ability to support clients from strategy through to implementation.

Verdantix highlights ERM’s use of digital technology to enhance client value and project outcomes, giving ERM the highest score among all firms assessed in the Environmental Management Information System (EMIS) implementation category. In addition, ERM is the only firm to achieve the maximum score for its air quality and emissions management capabilities and is commended for its strengths in biodiversity and natural resource protection as well as climate risk adaptation.

According to market analysis from Verdantix, the environmental services segment of the EHS market totalled almost $40 billion in 2023, and the overall EHS market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 6.6% to reach $63 billion in 2029. The report describes a growing market driven by the need for businesses to measure and disclose sustainability metrics, transition to net zero and build resilience to potentially catastrophic climate risks.

Jaideep Das, Global Leader of Services and Innovation at ERM said: “ERM has been helping clients to operationalize sustainability for over 50 years, and we are proud to see our combination of strategic transformation and technical delivery capabilities recognized by Verdantix.”

“At ERM, we will continue to work with clients and partners to seize the opportunities of the sustainability transformation, helping businesses to translate sustainability into commercial success, operational efficiency and resilience.”
