ERM CVS, which provides assurance, verification, certification and training services to help organizations meet their sustainability goals, has achieved the joint highest capability scores across all categories combined in new research from independent analyst firm Verdantix.

The Verdantix Green Quadrant: ESG & Sustainability Assurance Services 2024 report provides a benchmark of 14 of the most prominent ESG and sustainability assurance providers in the global market. It aims to provide insights that sustainability, finance, compliance, procurement and internal audit functions can use to inform their sustainability assurance provider selection strategies.

Verdantix assessed ERM CVS as having strong capabilities in carbon emissions assurance and sustainable finance assurance. ERM CVS also achieved the top score among all providers for its ESG and sustainability report and data assurance capabilities, as well as the joint highest score for its ESG and sustainability pre-assurance capabilities.

The report found that ERM CVS has "comprehensive sustainability assurance capabilities, with a client-focused approach" and is "well-suited to medium-sized and large organizations reporting across several sustainability metrics and with complex ESG assurance needs." It also noted that ERM CVS "has a portfolio of accredited and non-accredited services in the carbon credits and mitigation markets, making it a good match for firms in emissions-intensive sectors investing in GHG mitigation projects as part of their decarbonization strategies."

Carlos Pitanga, Global Managing Director of ERM CVS said: "This is an exciting time for ERM CVS as we accelerate our growth journey with investment in new services, capabilities and geographies and a refreshed brand that reflects our shared heritage with ERM Group.

"Our assurance services are helping our clients to navigate increased regulation and heightened scrutiny of their ESG and sustainability data, and we are proud to be recognized by Verdantix for these capabilities. As the landscape grows more complex, we look forward to helping more businesses to effectively manage risk, meet stakeholder expectations and ultimately transform their sustainability performance."

Verdantix analysis of the ESG and sustainability assurance services market found that the market was worth $1.8 billion in 2023, with strong growth forecast over the next five years.
